 In 2000, both my children had graduated from High School and gone off to College. The hog barn was now empty, leaving me with an “empty barn syndrome” if you will. The decision to raise a few litters of showpigs was an easy one at this point. At least it was for me. My wife wasn’t too excited. Through success, our operation has grown. Starting out with four litters 10 years ago and now breeding over 25 sows and gilts this year. Our sows come from some of the best Genetics in the Industry and our Boars are selected by genetics and not by chasing ribbons. We raise Registered Durocs, Yorkshires and from time to time Hampshires and maybe a litter of Chesters.Our small operation consists of my wife Debbie and I who take care of the day-to-day operations. Our son Ryan does the research and selection of boars. Our daughter Lindsey Forster helps us with the health and nutrition of our herd. Brian Compton, who I have labeled our herdsman, is always there when needed. We are available most all the time. My wife and I also own and operate an automotive business in Kerrville, TX. This consumes most of our time during the week. However, if you are planning to make a trip to come see us, please call ahead so I can meet you at the barn when you come.
